Wayward will be opening for business in mid-June as long as the Forward Dane plan from the Dane County Health Department remains in Phase 2. The artists at Wayward and myself do not take this pandemic lightly and have been working tirelessly to ensure we have all the proper procedures and equipment in place to open with as much safety as possible.
As a shop, Wayward prides itself on hygienic practices and will continue to follow the standard procedures for administering tattoos. We will be adding additional protocols to ensure everyone's safety and I urge you to read through the new operating standards before coming ro your appointment. We are all in this together, and Wayward's top priority is the safety of our clients.
1.) Wayward will be operating with only one artist in the shop at a time to ensure proper social distancing. Please be patient as I adjust to this new rotation. I will have less days available for tattooing and less flexibility with scheduling.
2.) Wayward will be appointment only until otherwise stated. We will have the doors locked during your appointment and ask you to come alone. I have over 80 reschedules to handle while only being able to work two days a week, this means I am not currently taking new appointments. Additionally, all consults will be handled over email for the time being.
3.) Both myself and all clients will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the shop. If you need a break to drink or eat I will have you do so outside of the shop. Eat before your appointment (a good idea any time) and come prepared. If you have a condition preventing you from wearing a mask we will have to postpone your appointment. All deposits will be honored.
4.) Come alone to your appointment. Wayward is not allowing any guests during this time to accompany you while you get tattooed.
5.) Do not come to your appointment if you are sick, have tested positive for Covid, have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, or have any potential symptoms. These include cough, fever, chills, body aches, diarrhea, sore throat, rash, loss of smell, and fatigue. We will be taking your temperature upon arriving to the shop. We are counting on your honesty to keep us, and our other clients safe. All deposits will be honored. Tattoos can wait.
6.) I urge you to assess your own risks. Getting a tattoo lowers your immune system for a few days. If you are immune compromised or elderly I will honor your deposit for as long as necessary. Again, tattoos can wait.
7.) I will be emailing a consent form the day before your appointment for you to go over. We will then have you fill it out and sign it on your own device right before your appointment.
8.) Hand sanitizer will be available for use upon entry to the shop as well as located in every station. Wayward will be routinely cleaned and sanitized after every appointment, including stations, all common areas, and bathroom.
9.) Myself and all of Wayward reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. We take the pandemic very seriously and will not tolerate anyone refusing to follow our guidelines. Please be respectful as we all attempt to navigate this new system together.
If you have any questions about these new protocols feel free to reach out via email. I will be slowly working through my emails to get everyone rescheduled and truly appreciate the ongoing patience. Thank you endlessly and hope to see you soon.
